I’m home alone, and everyone in the village seems to be spending the holiday elsewhere. There isn’t a light to be seen.
I went outside to collect wood for the fire. My flashlight illuminated the ghostly clouds of my breath while I shivered in my sweater. A loud crack from the forest behind me had me looking up and spinning around to peer into the darkness.
Just then, as if on cue, my phone found signal again and resumed playing music. “The Beast is Out There” from the official soundtrack of Over the Garden Wall began to play from my pocket.
