a friend of mine mentioned that ice thing may actually end up being betty’s fault due to meddling with the crown, and not actually a natural evolution of the ice king’s life cycle.

if they end up doing that, it would make a ton of sense narratively and provide the perfect breaking point for betty, for her to realize that she’s actually made things worse than they ever needed to be by not letting go. but JESUS would it be tragic. it’d be an earned sad ending and wouldn’t feel forced, but good god would it be the saddest possible direction to take.
