It’s somewhat funny, ironic, and all around disheartening to think that at one point, Jim must’ve said to himself that he’d NEVER leave his mom or Toby behind the way his dad did.
But he did. Not in a similar manner to his father, but… he did.
He still walked away from his mother, and he still walked away from Toby.
He still left them behind.
That’s a theme with this show.
