#046.5 - Paras spend a lot of time burrowing underground to gnaw on tree roots. When they hatch, they are doused with the mushroom spores that cover their egg, and as they grow mushrooms begin to sprout from their back. By the time the tochukaso mushrooms have begun to fruit, they have merged with the Pokemon’s nervous system and steal away most of the nutrients Paras consume. As Paras continue to mature, Trainers often report these Pokemon acting strangely. Once their evolution is complete, the parasitic mushroom has completely taken over the host Paras; the mushrooms even appear to do all the thinking.
