i bitch a lot about the mcu but like there are also quite a lot of tony stark things that are Superior in the mcu compared to the comics imo:
1) tracing tony’s friendship with rhodey, pepper, and happy back to pre-captivity??? GENIUS MOVE GENIUS MOVE that answers all of my “you were there for me before i even wanted to be there for myself” needs
2) re: rhodey, specifically: MIT BUDDIES?? IM GOING TO DIE THANK U MCU
3) the Entire concept and design of the arc reactor
4) JARVIS AND THE BOTS JARVIS AND THE BOTS JARVIS AND THE BOTS
5) everyone on this earth knows i have my fair share of im3 problems but tony legit having anxiety attacks that are called anxiety attacks on actual screen?????? holy shit
6) like just the overall idea of tony getting (explicitly acknowledged) PTSD from his first avengers mission is?? so good?? i love the basic humanity of it, the fact that everyone moved on but tony’s still stuck there, it’s so sad???? makes him come across as SO BRAVE too for carrying on?? i’m all tears
7) also i know i’m mostly alone here but i Love the idea of tony being super scared of space after the avengers instead of being comfortable with it and a super fan, bc again, it sort of highlights his bravery when he deals with it???? gosh
8) i hate, with all my heart, the Perpetuated Lie that 616 tony originally went through the whole asshole-to-hero redemption thing simply because it’s factually incorrect and the whole notion is a result of retcons you fucknuggets and fake geek boys, but like THAT BEING SAID i love how well the mcu cemented that arc for tony because… i’m such a fucking sucker….. for redemption arcs………….
