The Pale from Disco Elysium

i haven't finished the game yet, but from that little pieces of information which i get i think i understand The Pale

I understand it as some kind of horror, but so inevitable that you don't care anymore. The thing is so terrifying that it overwhelms all the limits of fear and you just stop feeling (maybe other feelings too). Lovecraft horror but there is no monsters just a fog. Cthulhu washed ashore.


p.s. PLS don't be spoilery in the notes, as i said i haven't yet finished the game. saying if i get the... "character" right or wrong is ok but pls no plot

finally got the time to draw some DE fanart hehe

disco elysium this scene made me crazy. just waiting on the swings with kim and asking him a bunch of stupid questions and kim is just waiting for you to figure out that you drove your car into the sea cause of course he figured it out. he saw what kind of car it was but he's also aware of how unstable you are and so he just sits on the swings with you and waits for you to figure it out yourself and he's gentle when he confirms what you don't want to confront kim kim.
