out of all the things that’s happened in one piece, this is one i’ll never get over.
Question
How do you ask for things???? Do you just go up to someone and be like “hey dude can you do me a solid” NO. What have I done that is so great for them which allows me a favor?? Have I saved their life? Built them a house? Payed their bills? NO. How can I ask them for anything I don’t…how. How.
PSA: DO NOT EVER TOUCH SOMEONE WITHOUT PERMISSION
Do not pat a stranger on the back
Do not touch anyone’s hair
Do not tug on anyone’s clothing
Do not give anyone a hug without asking
DO NOT GIVE ANYONE A SURPRISE HUG IF YOU’RE NOT FRIENDS WHO HAVE ESTABLISHED THAT THAT IS OKAY
If you’re tight with someone that’s one thing but there is literally NO REASON TO TOUCH A STRANGER WITHOUT ASKING
They could have sensory processing disorder, they could have a phobia or trauma involving physical contact, they could be having pain in whatever area of the body you’re about to jab them in, they could, idk, not want to be touched by strangers?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And if they get upset or uncomfortable or you put them in pain that is 100% entirely your fault for putting your hands on them without asking.
I don’t care if you’re a “huggy person” I don’t care if you’re kind and well intentioned you could be hurting someone.
This has been a PSA.
why you should make ocs with your friends
- “So I might have maybe broken our son’s leg”
- Inside jokes literally no one else understands
- Excitedly explaining those jokes to the poor fools who dared to ask
- Having to discuss characters with others can help you understand your character better
- “Oops- I think we accidentally gave them an anxiety disorder”
- Suggesting a stupid thing to do to your character as a joke then they run with it and now you have an OC with a crippling broccoli obsession
- You can get to know each other better
- “I just want our child to have nice things” “You know we can give them nice things” “Yeah but also I have this idea about fire and bugs I want to use”
- Another perspective can help the creative process
- “Sorry I gave this character my Flaws” “That’s okay I gave that one my Disorder”
I don’t even deserve to live. I’m a horrible person and an awful friend and a terrible daughter and sister and I’ve done so many bad things I deserve to die. I’m a waste of air and time and money and effort. The world would probably be a better place if I hadn’t been born I don’t understand why I’m still alive I don’t know why people bother keeping me alive I just deserve to die
Reminder: I love you
(the tags got out of hand on this one, sorry)
technology related sensory memories from my childhood
- sliding the metal cover on floppy disks
- the slight resistance of inserting cassette and video tapes
- ripping off the strips of holed paper off of dot matrix printer paper
- rolling the wheel on a disposable camera to take another photo
The heaviness and rubber texture of the roller ball in a computer mouse, and the little ring of lint
Unkinking the curly cord of a telephone while you talked
The -peww sound and slowly fading image of a crt monitor turning off, and then running your finger through the static on the dusty glass
The crunch of opening or closing a plastic Disney vhs cover
The sound effects in kidpix
Extending and collapsing metal antennas and using them as magic wands
…God, it is so weird these things aren’t around any more. Cause it’s true, the sensations are so distinct. It’s bizarre to think about missing these tiny relics.
