Lately I’ve been thinking a LOT about the Elric brothers post Al getting his body back
Like about how probably the first night after getting his body back him and Ed fell asleep curled up on the same bed, Edward’s head resting against Al’s chest cause he fell asleep listening to his brother’s heartbeat
(They probably slept for like twenty-four hours tbh)
Or about how Alphonse had to learn not to eat until he threw up because his stomach couldn’t handle everything at once
Or how Edward probably spends a week worried sick taking caring of a feverish Alphonse because he sat out in the rain for HOURS and caught a flu
How Al probably automatically ducks his head when walking through doorways because he’s used to being too tall for them
Maybe Alphonse has periods of depression/disassociation where he hurts himself just to feel connected to his body again
(Ed finds out and after yelling at him breaks down and just starts crying and holding him so tight he can barely breathe)
Al hugs everyone so so tight and just seeks out physical affection wherever and whenever he can
He probably sits in the sun until he’s burnt because the warmth makes him feel at peace
Winry buys him different soaps/lotions with unusual/exotic scents so that he can enjoy smelling them
He always ends up getting banged up/scratched because he’s not used to having a flesh and blood body
Dont think about the first time he cries after getting his body back and how he just can’t stop and ends up sobbing in Ed’s arms because he can feel again and it’s all just too much
His first birthday with his body back Winry and Ed surprise him by cooking all of his favorite food and they all eat and laugh and end up passed out in front of the fireplace in a pile of limbs and blankets
It’s been years and I still just…have so many feelings
